If the Planetshakers' Rain Down album is anything like the conference, I wish I had been there. Recorded before the Planetshakers Conference in Queensland earlier this year, this year's praise and worship album explores a variety of music genres: punk, rock and mellow tracks in an especially youthful fashion.
"Big" and "Could I Ever" are simple but powerful tracks while "Rain Down" is a fresh song of adoration with depth. Can you even worship to punk or rock music? Of course you can.
Unfortunately, you don't have to know a lot about singing to hear that some of the vocalists are singing songs they're not suited to and don't do justice to what are obviously fabulous music and lyrics.
But there isn't anyone who won't be able to use and enjoy this album, personally or in a congregational setting.
The album has been described as powerful and passionate -- it couldn't be said any better.
