Sovereign Grace Music Live at Covenant Life Church
With Bob Kauflin and Pat Sczebel

This is a live recording of two evenings of worship in February 2005 at the Covenant Life Church. While there are hundreds of people singing, the band and lead singers are clearly audible.

The style of the music is modern, upbeat, professionally performed and popular - the type you hear at Pentecostal churches. (Sovereign Grace Ministers describe themselves as a church-planting ministry with a family of 67 churches in the US, Mexico, Canada, Bolivia, Ethiopia and the United Kingdom, whose primary purpose is to establish and nurture local churches to God's glory.)

I liked best the modern arrangement of Isaac Watt's "Oh God, Our Help in Ages Past" with some new words by Mark Altrogge, but I found some of the songs a little too like each other in style to stand out.

However, this type of CD would appeal to teenagers who like to sing modern songs of worship, and it also makes soothing background music for tense mothers during the school holidays.
